Taking Oath (on Your iPhone!)
A sign of the times – Anne Gerwig was sworn in to a town council seat in Wellington, FL and apparently took her oath with her hand on her Bible. Nothing different right? How about the fact that her Bible was the YouVersion app on her iPhone? Does it make a difference? Why or why not?
Exactly! What is a ‘proper Bible’? It is funny how each generation can so quickly forget history and how things have changed. The Word was given to Moses in stone tablets (the 10 Commandments). I’m glad we don’t have to carry them around in that form any longer!
I love this but I can see of my fellow congregants being up in arms that “it isn’t a proper bible” – whatever that is?
