The second week of this series brings another imperial / double stout to the spotlight. While the name of the beer and the size of the sample were both “tiny”, the flavor and kick in this beauty from Weyerbacher Brewing Company was big and full-flavored.
Tiny is a Belgian inspired Imperial Stout weighing in at 11.8% ABV. You’ll find big chocolate and roasted notes, balanced with the Belgian flavors from the Abbey yeast strain.
Weyerbacher, was founded in 1995 in Easton, PA and since the beginning, they have established a reputation for making big, full-flavored, high quality Belgian-style brews, including Merry Monks which is a wonderful Belgian Triple.
The reason for the tiny taster was that this was a part of the 2021 Delaware Beer Fest, hosted by Bellefonte Brewing Company – Brandywine location.
While there was a great variety of beers to sample, the most important aspect was benefiting charity, The Trauma Survivors Foundation, which seeks to improve the lives of children and families who have experienced a traumatic event by providing mental health services through a network of trained trauma therapists. They grant scholarships to high school and college seniors who are seeking careers in the mental health field in order to promote further research into trauma psychology as well as help firefighters, police and EMS with scholarships to attend approved training classes.
It’s always great when you can drink beer and do good at the same time!
