As today is the official count of the Electoral College to seal the 50 states votes for President (congratulations Joe) it is only fitting that I stay with a local Wilmington, Delaware beer to mark this first occasion that the First State has its first President-elect. (Yes, I know, I could have saved Rail Car One for this day, but I couldn’t wait.)

Life is short, eat (or drink) dessert first! 😋 Gravitational Confection: Pumpkin Pie (2020) by @wilmingtonbrewworks is very much dessert in a glass! This 10% ABV delight is officially classified as a Belgian Quad, WBW considers it an obscure and esoteric style they call a “Danish Pastry Quad”. Dry hopped and spiced with vanilla, cinnamon and honey; this strong dark quad feels just like a trip to grandma’s house, complete with the essence of pumpkin pie. A Drinkable Dessert! This beer is soooo delicious and drinks VERY easily – way under the ABV!

This tasty New England hazy brew seems to have done the trick in both pleasing my taste buds and helping the Birds pull off an upset against the Saints!
