Today is officially the first day of winter. The solstice actually occurred at 5:02 a.m. but there was little chance of me cracking open this 13% ABV Imperial Stout at that time. This beauty is part 1 of a twin -pack collaboration between two Delaware breweries, @revbeer and @autumnarchbeer called “Path of the Sun”. Interestingly, however, each took the beer and did something different with it. Revelation Craft Brewing Company added cocoa nibs to theirs which compliments the Woodford Reserve Bourbon Barrel aging to the rich complex roastiness of this imperial stout. Well done!

So, the winter solstice is the not only the first day of winter, but also the day which has the least amount of daylight and the longest night. But, it also marks the start of the long path of the sun back to summer, which hopefully will be much different and better in 2021! I am glad the sun came out just long enough to get a photo of the beer with the sun in the sky today.
